As the designer of the DB4, Mr Rigby-Jones was able to explain to attendees why the product recently won an award as the ‘Ultimate Club Mixer’ at the DJMag Tech Awards. A Xone:DB2 digital mixer and K2 midi controller were also brought to the event, where invited guests were the first in Asia to see and test the new products.
After the workshop, attendees adjourned to the rooftop where DJ Denodusk from VMC completed a set on the DB4 mixer, followed by Mr Rigby-Jones who DJ’d for 90 minutes.
‘This is the coolest gig I've played yet, with the view overlooking the Marina Bay, F1 circuit, Fullerton Hotel and a crowd that appreciates music in any form!’ enthused Mr Rigby-Jones. ‘I hope somebody invites me again,’ he added.
More than S$1000 worth of Xone products were won in a prize draw, and despite poor weather conditions, the turnout was said to have been ‘unexpectedly good’.
