WEB: Meyer Sound has announced a free webinar series on mixing for October. The Mixing Workshop focuses on the role of the mix engineer in live audio production. The online seminars will be hosted by Buford Jones and take place on the 4th and 18th of the month.

The first part of the series looks at mixing on equal amplitude systems whereas session two will cover subs on aux. The manufacturer promises that Mr Jones will give attendees the benefit of his vast experience in a seminar that will go beyond the technical to artistic and even political concerns. Mixing tools and techniques, system tuning, mixing in concert halls, record producer involvement, surround mixing, mixing in isolation will all be discussed, but Mr Jones will also address issues of communication and trust between the artist and the mix engineer, and the politics involved in any production, from large-scale tours, to corporate events and house of worship productions.

Each session will be one hour in duration and presented in English. There will be two editions of each webinar the first at 7am Pacific Time and the second at 9am Pacific Time (GMT -8). Attendees can register for the webinars via Meyer Sound’s education page.
