APG launches compact DX5 multipurpose monitor speaker

Published:

The DX5 is the latest addition to APG’s Dispersion Series of multipurpose monitor speakers, characterised by its compact format and versatility. In fact, the manufacturer reports that its latest offering is suited to ‘all types’ of nearfield applications, including stage monitoring, distributed systems, delay or in-fill for high-power PA systems, as well as for sound reinforcement for small and mid-sized venues  – with or without low frequency reinforcement.

In addition, the DX5 is also suited for theatre, TV studios and conference rooms, and when combined with APG subwoofers, can act as full compact solution for sound reinforcement in all manner of performance spaces, as well as exhibitions and fashion shows. The DX5 is also well suited for front-fill applications due to its low profile when used horizontally.

As is true of the rest of the Dispersion Series, the DX5 is a coaxial loudspeaker. APG states that this limits distortion and diffraction, reportedly resulting in ‘a high level of sonic accuracy and optimised gain’ before feedback for studio monitoring-type performances.

A number of flying and mounting accessories are available as well as dedicated processors depending upon the application, and the DX5 can be flown or wall-, ceiling- or pole-mounted.
