Audio-Technica has enhanced its BP892 MicroSet subminiature omnidirectional condenser headworn microphone with the introduction of the AT8464 dual-ear microphone mount.

The high-SPL successor to the AT892, the BP892 offers increased dynamic range with maximum audio quality and minimum visibility. The new dual-ear mount allows users to convert their single-ear-worn BP892 MicroSet to a dual-ear-worn unit for maximum stability and comfort. This device will now come as standard with all BP892 MicroSet units, and is also sold as a stand-alone item to retrofit BP892 and AT892 units.

Aimed at broadcast, live sound, theater, ENG, house-of-worship and fitness applications, the AT8464 provides additional stability and a comfortable fit for the BP892. It converts the mic to left or right wearing positions, and the continuously adjustable headband fits both children and adults. It features a durable, lightweight, low-profile design with an included cord clip. Like the BP892 it accompanies, the AT8464 is available in both black and theater beige. The addition of the AT8464 mount to the BP892 MicroSet comes with no increase in price to the previous version.

Also new is the U843R three-channel boundary microphone. The versatile condenser mic from the company’s Unipoint sound reinforcement series is designed for surface-mount applications and is aimed at audio and video conferencing. Three cardioid condenser elements are mounted in the U843R’s housing, set with an angle of 120° between them to give complete 360° coverage. Two of the three elements may be reoriented to give angles of 90°/90°/180° between elements. Elements can also be powered and used individually, or in any combination.
