Altinex switcher seeks to streamline classroom presentations and more
With the promise of ‘increasing A/V system flexibility’, Altinex has debuted the MX2106AV 2-in / 2-out VGA Auto + Audio Switcher, which it describes as ‘ideal for classrooms and other presentation spaces requiring the flexibility to alternate between two computer sources and simultaneously output to two displays or a single display plus local monitor’.
The dedicated switcher and distribution amplifier (DA) has been designed to switch computer video signals and stereo audio. Each of the two inputs on the MX2106AV incorporates a 15-pin HD female video connector that is accompanied by a 3.5mm audio jack. Similarly, the two outputs each provide a 15-pin HD female video connector and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The MX2106AV automatically switches upon signal detection, with optional manual control. Override switching is reportedly accomplished via the Input Select/RS-232 input, while manual override switching is possible via an optional contact closure on the Input Select jack.
The switcher offers support for VGA through QXGA signal formats and HDTV/component compatible video signals, while its signal flow is labelled in a diagram on its housing to assist operation. It is available standalone or as part of the manufacturer’s MX2106AV Pack, which also includes the RC5208CC Contact Switch Box for manual switch override of the system.
Also new from Altinex are the TNP151 and TNP151C (custom) table-top interconnect boxes for enabling simpler boardroom connections. Joining the company’s Tilt ‘N’ Plug range, the boxes are intended to offer ‘one touch access to network and AC power connections’.
Both boxes come as standard in matte black though customisation options are available. The standard TNP151 provides a single input plate with two RJ-45 F-M inputs and two AC Power connections. Alternately the TNP151C is highly customisable with more than 25 different factory configured connector options including USB, BNC composite video, HDMI, 4-pin mini-XLR and more.
