Amate Audio holds international distributor summit
WORLD: Around 20 representatives from 13 international distributors attended the recent Amate Audio international distributor conference. Spread across three days and taking place primarily at the Hotel & Conference Centre in the grounds of the ancient monastery of Món Sant Benet, close to the manufacturer’s Terrassa headquarters, it was the company's first official event as Amate Audio, following its rebranding from Master Audio at the end of last year.
Distributors were present from as far afield as China, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Greece, Turkey, France, Denmark and Nigeria. After founder and CEO Juan Amate welcomed the guests, day one saw corporate presentations by VP and CTO Joan Amate focusing on the strategic thinking behind the company’s rebranding as Amate Audio, and setting out the product and technologies roadmap for the near future. In his presentation, Now We Are Amate Audio, Mr Amate explained the rational behind the rebranding, stating that over time, as the company had expanded its distribution into more territories, it had increasingly come into contact with competing businesses whose identities were too readily confused with the Master Audio brand.
Day two began with an introductory speech by Juan Amate followed by a product presentation from chief acoustic engineer Natàlia Milan who outlined new product additions and enhancements for the Xcellence series. Ms Milan explained how advances in amplifier module performance and improved driver designs have resulted in improvements in performance and reductions in size and weight of up to 20 per cent. Joan Amate also detailed performance improvements across the Joker series, resulting from the introduction of improved integral DSP, as well as improved Eco mode power operation. He then introduced a new digital incarnation of the company’s Triphonic power amplifier series.
The product presentations were followed by lunch and listening tests of many of the earlier presented products. The day concluded with a gala dinner for the guests and Amate employees. Day three featured a tour of the company’s local manufacturing and R&D centre.
Commenting on the event’s success, Joan Amate said: ‘It was great to have the opportunity to share information about our forthcoming projects with our distributors, and a unique opportunity to gather comment and feedback in preparing our launch campaigns. It was a great pleasure for us to welcome so many of our international partners to our headquarters here in Cataluña once again, and we look forward to the next summit.’
