Analog Way completes Midra series with Eikos2 and Saphyr
The mid-range Midra series of seamless switchers from Analog Way has been completed with the addition of Eikos² and Saphyr. Both are described as offering 10 seamless inputs and 16 input plugs, including 4xDVI-D, 4xHDMI and 4x3G-SDI. The switchers lead a raft of new releases from the US manufacturer.
Both Eikos² and Saphyr offer two outputs and a video output with digital and analogue connectivity, plus a mosaic preview with two modes, and EDID management. They can be used in mixer or native matrix modes, while Eikos² features a Quadravision mode displaying up to four layers on a still background according to 12 different layouts. A Quick Frame function is also on board. Digital audio can be embedded or de-embedded on HDMI and DVI-D connectors, while control via AMX or Crestron systems is available. They can also be operated through the RK-350 remote keypad or the Midra series’ RCS² software.
Also new is the Vertige, a remote control console for LiveCore and, as of a planned 2015 firmware update, Midra switchers. The console includes a 16/9 TFT touchscreen, user-assignable contextual buttons, motorised faders, and libraries of customisable and exportable effects and borders. Reportedly based on ‘screen’ management, the console allows users to organise and manage screens as required, while different user profiles can be created to limit access and permissions.
Elsewhere, v1.4 of the Ascender 48 seamless switcher adds functions including ‘link mode’. Two linked units will now function as one 24x8+2 scaled seamless matrix with two live mosaic previews, 84 input plugs and 96 scalers. Additionally, advanced layer management has been incorporated – when one output is disabled, its layers can be added to another output and managed through Web RCS.
Next is the Orchestra² remote controller for the Di-VentiX II, Eikos, Pulse, and the Midra series (for which a quick frame button has been added).
Capable of managing several switchers, The Orchestra² controls up to six independent screen configurations in different locations and stores up to 64 presets per screen configuration. Other features include off-line programming, a snap function for positioning layers, customisable presets, and a USB port for saving configurations. Owners of the previous Orchestra and Axion2 controllers can download firmware to gain Midra compatibility, while the quick frame key is available on request.
Meanwhile, users of SmartMatriX Ultra, Ascender 32 and Ascender 48 based systems can now add four additional outputs plus one monitoring output using the LiveCore Output Expander. The expander comes in three configurations: the LOE016 with 16 scalers embedded for the SmartMatriX Ultra, the LOE032 with 32 scalers for the Ascender 32, and the LOE048 with 48 scalers for the Ascender 48. The models are also downwards compatible and can be linked through Web RCS or Vertige.
Finally, the Secure Power Unit has debuted as an external accessory for the SmartMatriX Ultra, Ascender 32 and Ascender 48, providing approximately 10 minutes of emergency power.
