Behringer iNuke packs massive output into lightweight amps

Published:

Behringer has unveiled its Class-D iNuke series of amplifiers, declaring that the six-strong range represents a significantly lighter design than normal while still retaining power and a budget-friendly price point.

Starting the iNuke series is the 1000W NU1000, which weighs in at 3kg, followed by the 3000W NU3000, which is 5kg, and the NU6000, delivering 6000W at 5kg. Three DSP-loaded models are also offered in the shape of the 1000W, 4kg NU1000DSP, the 3000W, 4kg NU3000DSP, and the 6000W, 5kg NU6000DSP. The DSP amplifiers – described as ‘featherweight’ by the manufacturer – boast functions including delay, crossover, EQ, and dynamics processing with lockable security settings.

The iNuke DSP models can be set-up, monitored and controlled via a front panel USB connector, while a front panel LCD display provides direct access to setup and adjustment parameters without the need for a PC. Also included are combination XLR / ¼-inch TRS input connectors, integrated limiters, a built-in subwoofer/satellite crossover, and twist-lock speaker connectors in lightweight, rack-mountable packages.
