CAN and SAE host Midas Open House in Singapore
SINGAPORE: A recent launch by Consolidated Audio Networks Pte Ltd (CAN) for Midas’ M32 and Pro series mixing consoles attracted more than 160 audio professionals to the SAE Institute campus in Singapore. Conducted in partnership with the educational body, the Midas Open House event was said to be the first of many training seminars to be jointly offered by the two companies.
The event was held following the distributor’s decision to send three of its Local Certified Midas Technicians to the Music Group for training. Mark Gerard Albers, Eddie Chng and Chad Batchelor received advice on troubleshooting the desks as well as educating users on their specific feature sets for varying applications.
‘It was very informative for our distributors to learn about networking, system configuration and troubleshooting,’ commented Music Group’s APAC tech support, Mr Khiew. ‘Moving forward with our Midas Open House, we anticipate many more training events and seminars with them to further help enhance their students knowledge with technology. This has also brought us a strong partnership with SAE.’
Attendees included A/V technicians, freelance sound engineers, students from ITE and local polytechnics, church staff and the tech crew from Marina Bay Sands. ‘It’s great to see audio guys from different backgrounds sharing their experiences and how they would use different consoles in different applications,’ said Faisal Diab from the Marina Bay Sands tech team. ‘It was a good opportunity to learn more about the products and was very informative.’
Steven Sanjaya from New Life Community Church has recently invested in a Midas M32 and attended the sessions to gain a thorough understanding of its capabilities. ‘It was very eye opening and informative. I really like how they placed Midas boards around the venue for people to get a feel of them. I was able to find out how to use the M32 board better and am indeed very happy with the choice I've made.’
