CSA-Indonesia fills the Jungle Fest theme park with Harman
INDONESIA: Located approximately one hour’s drive south of Jakarta, the Indonesian city of Bogor is aiming to entice both families and tourists alike to its Jungle Fest theme park. In its quest, the developer called upon the services of CSA-Indonesia to design, supply and install a distributed PA and paging system around the attraction.
JBL Control 25T loudspeakers and SB-210 subwoofers powered by Crown CTS amplifiers have been installed throughout the five theme park and two car park zones, which are controlled via a BSS London BLU DSP solution. Located in a central server room and connected to various sources, two BLU-100 and single BLU-101 processors each outfitted with 12 inputs and eight outputs combine to manage all of Jungle Fest’s AEC processing and DSP management. Connected to the three BLU processors via a single mode fibre optic cabling infrastructure courtesy of MC-1 Gigabit Media Converters, BLU-BOB1 breakout boxes provide a further eight channels of audio output expansion in each zone.
‘With a fibre optic network, the latency of this system can now be measured in micro-seconds,’ explained project manager, Amir Santoso. ‘When the owner heard us testing the system he was astounded by both the clarity and the coverage, which in many ways is greatly boosted by the SB210 subwoofers that have been deployed.’
The centrepiece of the theme park, which took three months to complete, is the outdoor amphitheatre where daily live music performances are staged. Owing to the relatively small audience area, CSA-Indonesia opted for a JBL compact line area system comprising of four VT4886 and single VT 4883 modules in each L-R array. Lower frequencies have been further extended by adding two ground-stacked STX828S subwoofers, whilst the performers benefit from JBL PRX615M stage monitors.
Powered by Crown MA5000I and XTI6002 amplifiers and managed by a dbx 4800 Driverack processor, the small but powerful sound system is mixed on a Soundcraft Si Expression 3 console in a covered control room. Four channels of AKG WMS470 wireless can be configured either via D5 hand held microphones or WMS450 headsets depending on the nature of the performance.
‘When the theme park owner saw us installing the amphitheater system he complained, and was worried because the speakers look very small,’ Mr Santoso added. ‘But when he heard it again after the final setup and was finished, he looked very happy and satisfied.'
‘As is the norm in Indonesia, our customers demand the best sound quality, reliability and best in class performance – but at the best possible price,’ he concluded. ‘With the Harman Pro products and solutions we have installed into Jungle Fest, we fulfilled all of those demands.’
