Chennai’s AV Express adds QSC Wideline-10 to inventory
INDIA: Chennai-based audiovisual rental house AV Express has purchased a QSC Wideline-10 system, immediately deploying it for events at the Karunya University in Coimbatore and the Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium. The system was supplied by distributor Pro Visual Audio Pvt Ltd, whose application & business development manager, Deepak Gracias, supported the rental company at both events.
Founded over a decade ago, AV Express is described as ‘one of Chennai’s premier audiovisual events hire companies, handling audio, video and lighting for everything from live bands and DJ sets to corporate shows’. The company’s Wideline-10 system comprises 16 10-inch WL2102-w three-way speakers, each offering 140-degree horizontal coverage, along with six dual 18-inch GP218-sw subwoofers. QSC PL380s and PL325s are used for amplification.
‘When we were looking for a new system to upgrade our existing audio inventory, we would not compromise,’ explained Mr Murugesh, one of AV Express’s principal partners. ‘We had a lot to choose from, but only the QSC WideLine system matched our parameters of quality and performance. Plus, Pro Visual Audio walked us through the entire operation and workflow of the system during our demo, and gave us a clear idea of the advantages of the WideLine system.’
The set-up has also already been used for an annual celebration marking the foundation of Nokia’s manufacturing plant in Chennai. Mr Murugesh continued, ‘The WideLine’s 140-degree coverage makes it absolutely fantastic for shows where the audience is spread across a wide horizon. We’ve used it quite a few times now, and not once did we ever encounter the problem of ‘dead zones’ or low throw/low impact areas. We found it to be every bit as good on the field as it claims to be on paper, and the team at Pro Visual Audio, especially south area sales manager Harry Martin, have been extremely supportive at every step.’
