DAS unveils three-way Aero 40A line array
The Aero 40A advanced line array system is a three-way powered system that incorporates the manufacturer’s latest advancements in waveguide design, power electronics and digital signal processing. Key to its appeal is its connectivity for remote monitoring and control, provided for by way of a DASnet monitoring system and software.
The Aero 40A employs a rear-loaded 12-inch transducer in a bass-horn configuration for low-end reproduction, whilst the mid-range is handled by a new 8-inch transducer/horn assembly developed specifically for the Aero 40A. This BM-8905 horn integrates a phasing plug to enhance acoustic coupling between adjacent units, whilst high frequency reproduction relies on two M-75N compression drivers attached to a new BPS-2912 waveguide.
Powering the Aero 40A is a combination of integrated electronics that includes the digital signal processing engine and a new 2,000W (4,000W peak) amplifier. The three-channel Class-D design is equipped with a switch mode power supply and a comprehensive protection package for both the amplifier as well as the components.
Three individual assemblies comprising the high frequency waveguide, the horn device for the 8-inch mid-range and the carrier for the 12-inch woofer are made from injection-molded aluminum and attached to the front of the cabinet. In addition, stainless steel is used for grilles and major parts of the new rigging system.
In further news, the manufacturer has also rounded out its Action series of products with the launch of the new Action 8 systems. Comprising the Action 8 and Action 8A, the series is targeted towards musicians, DJs and is suited for a range of audiovisual applications.
Both models are two-way systems that utilise an 8-inch transducer that handle the mid and low-frequency reproduction, whilst the high frequencies are reproduced using a new M-26 compression driver. Offering precise reproduction between 60Hz and 20kHz, the systems boast a continuous power output of 360W (720W peak), and boast a Class-D amplifier that uses a switch mode power supply.
A 35mm socket in the base of each model allows for either tripod mounting or stand mounting on subwoofers, whilst both are also equipped with threaded inserts for optional wall mounting brackets.
