DIS has made some changes to its product range for the DCS 6000 Digital Conference System. Units with fixed gooseneck microphones will be replaced with units with a lockable XLR socket. The second major feature is that delegate units will feature two buttons: A Speak/Request button and a second Function button. This button as standard will be Mute Own Microphone. Options for other functions will be added later, such as Reply functionality, which will be available in systems with the SW 6000 Software and the coming ‘SW 6110 AMC Advanced Microphone Control’ module.

The DM/CM 60xx P series of portable units will be replaced with the DC 61xx P Conference Units, which can be configured for either Chairman or Delegate functionality. The new features mean that two units will replace eight units. For the DM/CM 6xxx F series of flush mounted units the major changes are that standard units will feature five voting buttons and a lockable XLR socket. The delegate units will also feature the Function button.

The FD/FC 4xxx F series of front plates will be replaced with the FD/FC 6xxx F series, where the round buttons are replaced with oval buttons in a design like the present series of flush mounted units. The new FD/FC 6xxxF series of front plates can be used with MU 4040, and the function button with Mute in the delegate unit will be available with the CDS 4000 system using the FD/FC 6xxx F front plates.

It will not be possible to upgrade the present range of units (DM/CM 60xx P, DM 6xxx F Conference Units and FD/FC 4xxx F Front Plates) to include the ‘Function’ button functionality.

Old MU 4040 units with new front plates FD 6xxx F will feature the Mute functionality and MU, while the 6040D can be upgraded with new firmware to include ‘second’ button functions.
