DIS introduces new digital conference units

Published:

DIS has added to its DCS6000 Digital Conference System range with the DC6120P and the DC6190P.

Both products are fully digital microcomputer controlled conference units with built in loudspeaker and lockable XLR socket for use with the DIS series of RF resistant Gooseneck Microphones.

The units can be configured for use as either a delegate or a chairman on the spot either directly on the unit or via the DIS Software. The two push buttons on the units may be exchanged to match the functionality of Chairman / delegate and can also match the local language in use.

The DC6120P is a discussion unit and comes with mini jack socket, volume control and quality loudspeaker. The DC6190, besides discussion, also supports interpretation. Two separate channel selectors are available with indication OLED displays. The loudspeaker is also functioning when both channel selectors are in use.

Both units are designed for portable use, but can also be installed recessed in a table. Standard Cat-5e or better is used as cabling, this either as daisy chain or loop through. The DIS system supports up to 3400 units from a single central unit.

A further addition to the DCS6000 system is the CP7801 Camera Control Package, part of the CCS7800 DIS Camera Control system. The new package consists of a controller, a wireless router and an iPod Touch user Interface. The controller and Wireless router both come with pre-installed DIS SW7810 Camera Control Software.

The package enables simultaneous control of up to four cameras and may be used with or without the DIS SW6000 software. When multiple cameras presets are needed this can be setup, managed and stored for each seat, with a total capacity up to 400 seats.

The DIS camera system control unit is connected directly to the DIS central units (CU 6005/11) using either RS232 output or the DIS SW6000 Conference Software via the External Control Application's RS232 output. The CP7801 solution supports the universal Visca protocol for cameras, of the Extron ISS 506 Seamless Switcher and Extron MSW Mini Switcher Series.
