APG has unveiled two additions to its Dispersion Series range. The DX15 and DX12 replace the DS15 and the DS12S respectively, thereby revitalising the core of the Dispersion Series and bringing it into line with the SMX15.
The DX15 is a high power, two-way, compact monitor speaker featuring a 15-inch LF/1-inch HF coaxial loudspeaker unit. The DX15 offers flexibility for stage monitoring and FOH applications, with or without subwoofers. The asymmetric cabinet design enables two different angles as a floor monitor (30° for near-field and 45° for far-field applications), or it may be pole-mounted or flown for use as a FOH, delay or in-fill system.
Meanwhile the DX12 is the little brother to DX15, featuring a 12-inch LF/1-inch HF coaxial loudspeaker unit which produces an acoustic field with a conical dispersion of 100°. Offering the same asymmetric cabinet design as the DX15, the DX12 has been designed to be more compact. It can operate as a standalone system – either as a stage monitor or FOH system – or as a complement to a main PA. Alternately it can be combined with subwoofers to create a compact medium power PA system. The DX12 is compatible with DX15, and also has its own dedicated processors.
The DX12 and DX15 can be used with different levels of processing depending on the application. They can be used without any processing for vocal applications, with SPX12 or LPDX12 processors for medium and high power music and live sound or with APG’s digital processor DMS26 for medium power distributed sound systems.
The company has also released its first line array product in the shape of Uniline, a high precision, medium-long-throw line array system. The range comprises two models: the UL210 three-way biamped full range loudspeaker intended for medium-power voice and music applications, and the Uniline UL115B subwoofer for high power concert/touring applications.
