Dubai rental houses supply Justin Timberlake
UAE: Dubai-based rental firms, Delta Sound and Gearhouse were responsible for the audio, video and lighting equipment at the recent Justin Timberlake concert at Abu Dhabi’s du Arena. The event for over 25,000 fans was promoted by Flash.
Delta was responsible for the audio equipment put to use. The main PA for the gig was a 12 per side L-Acoustics K1 with three per side Kara as downfill. Low end was taken care of by 24 SB28 subs with a further 12 K1 Subs. Power for this main PA was courtesy of the manufacturer’s LA8 amplifiers.
For the sidefills, frontfills and stagefills 16 V-Dosc, 16 dV-Dosc and eight Kudo cabinets were put to use. Low end came from six SB218s, power was from LA8 and LA48 amps while control was from a pair of XTA DP448s. Delays were 16 V-Dosc, powered by LA48 amps and controlled with a pair of XTA DP226s.
Elsewhere, Delta also supplied a DiGiCo SD9 console, TASCAM CD players, Meyer Sound Galileo 616 processing, and Furman power conditioning.
Gearhouse supplied the lighting and video equipment for the show. The lighting required more than 100 Clay Paky fixtures, as well as spot and wash lights from Vari-Lite. Further lighting equipment from Martin Professional, ETC, Source 4 and Avolite was also called into action. A Grand MA2 full size with MA Command Wing provided lighting control.
On the video side, Gearhouse provided an 18m x 9m Mambo 6mm LED screen as the main backdrop with a further two 7.2 x 4.32 screens for IMAG. Martin video panels and system controllers were also put to use, as were switchers from Extron and Sony.
