Epson highlights innovation ahead of Singapore Grand Prix
SINGAPORE: Epson teamed up with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team to present a technology showcase ahead of the Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix. Executives from Epson and the team shared insights on the long-term global partnership with the 2014 FIA Formula One World Champions and how Epson is working with the team on a number of product integration initiatives.
One of the highlights of the technology showcase was a projection mapping display using a Formula One car as the canvas. Calling on products from its 3LCD range, the manufacturer used seven EB-Z series projectors to map the vehicle as a way to highlight the colours and clarity of its high-brightness range.
'Epson's use of innovative technology to deliver performance is perfectly aligned to what we strive to achieve in Formula One,' said Toto Wolff, head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport. 'Over the past eight months, we have started to move beyond this shared philosophy into the practicalities of the team integrating Epson technology into many areas of our operation. This process has delivered some great benefits and will be continued into an exciting and deeper level of technical integration as our partnership matures.'
'The two brands have much in common, from the relentless pursuit of innovation and global leadership, to the creation of high-quality products,' added Toshimitsu Tanaka, managing director of Epson's Regional Office and Epson Singapore. 'Epson is committed to deliver innovative high performance solutions. Through exciting collaborations and experiences, we aim to race ahead of the competition and remain the technology brand of choice for our corporate and retail customers.'
