Fox T USW 103 leads trio of long haul transmission launches
The Fox T USW 103 is a three input switcher from Extron that boasts an integrated fibre optic transmitter for long haul transmission of HDCP-compliant HDMI, RGBHV, or HD component video, stereo audio and RS-232 control signals over fibre optic cabling.
A tool suited for both digital and analogue sources, the compact switcher provides pixel-for-pixel performance with signals up to a reported 1,920 x 1,200, including HDTV 1,080p/60. To streamline installation and system operation, the Fox T USW 103 includes integration-friendly features such as Edid and Key Minder, audio embedding, auto-input switching, RS-232 control and real-time system monitoring.
The switcher is compatible with Fox Series HDMI, DVI Plus, DVI and VGA receivers, and can be used in combination with Fox Series matrix switchers for HDCP-compliant signal distribution systems up to 1,000 x 1,000 and larger.
Also new from the manufacturer is the Fox RS 104 and the Fox T UWP 302. Beginning with the former, this is a four port RS-232 inserter optimised for long-haul transmission of control signals to remote source and destination equipment over fibre optic cabling.
Particularly suited for applications with a centralised control system, the inserter maintains an optical signal transmission while providing bidirectional control from a control processor, eliminating the need for separate control system wiring to remote devices. Available in multimode and single-mode models, the Fox RS 104 is compatible with the manufacturer’s line of Fox Series extenders, distribution amplifiers, switchers, and matrix switchers.
Meanwhile, the Fox T UWP 302 is a two-input fibre optic transmitter for long haul transmission of HDCP-compliant HDMI, RGBHV, or HD component video and stereo audio signals over fibre optic cabling.
This Decora-style wallplate transmitter utilises digital technology to provide pixel-for-pixel transmission of images up to 1,920 x 1,200, including HDTV 1080p/60.
Again offering integrator-friendly features, such as Edid and Key Minder, audio embedding with gain and attenuation control, auto-input switching and real-time system monitoring, the Fox T UWP 302 occupies a three-gang space, and is available in multimode and single-mode models.
In a final announcement, Extron has announced that it is now shipping the DDX 102 Dual Link DVI fibre optic extender – an efficient transmitter and receiver designed for long haul delivery of DVI signals over fibre optic cabling.
