Gefen expands Asian team

Published: ASIA

ASIA: Gefen has added two ‘industry veterans’ to its sales and support team in Asia, overseeing and operating throughout the region. Philip Hay will cover south east Asia, while Ashok Sharma will cover the countries of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Led by Rod Sommerich, far east and Pacific Rim regional sales director, the team will provide direct support to resellers and distributors and assist them with sales and support of their customers.
Mr Hay brings more than 10 years experience working in the professional audio/video market to the role, possessing a broad knowledge of both technical and commercial products. Based in Singapore, he will be focused on local countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and other areas.

Meanwhile, Mr Sharma has a vast knowledge of simulation and control room applications, and after managing sales for many years he has good working relationships with many system integrators and end users. He will be based in Mumbai and will focus on working with local partners to promote Gefen products in the region.

‘We have long seen a need for a greater sales presence in Asia and we hope these new members of the sales team will better serve the growing needs of customers in the region,’ said Hagai Gefen, Gefen president.

Local Gefen training will also be included in the region with a schedule of road shows and training events to educate partners and users about the core technologies used in Gefen’s vast product line. Training will be available in several formats including face-to-face and via webinar as appropriate for the users.

‘Gefen recently launched the GefenPRO range of products, while the new GAVA solution and growing digital signage solutions mean that Gefen is expanding its offerings to meet the widest range of applications in a variety of markets,’ said Mr Sommerich. ‘We’re really excited at the possibilities in growing Gefen business in the Asian regions.’
