KME has now begun shipping its QLB118G direct-radiating subwoofer, incorporating a newly developed 18-inch subwoofer with tetra coil and dual voice coil. The tunnel design of the 52kg bass reflex cabinet is intended to minimise noise caused by airflow, enhancing the impulse response without losing bass reproduction.

Designed as a universal subwoofer for creating bass arrays in combination with the line array and hybrid elements of the Pano series, the QLB118G is finished in black polyurethane coating and measures 600mm w x 600mm h x 650mm. It can reportedly operate down to 32Hz (-6dB). The 2,000W (AES) subwoofer comes with dual side mounted handles, an M20 high stand flange and four M8 threads. The QLB 118 X version incorporates handles, stacking elements and a quick release hardware system for enabling its use as a line array element without a frame in both flying and stacking modes.

The German manufacturer has also launched another subwoofer in the format of the VB218. The passive, direct radiating dual 18-inch sub integrates two side handles, M10 threads for flying and M8 eyebolts for mounting transport wheels. Capable of producing a maximum SPL of 134dB within a 33Hz to 800Hz frequency range, the 75kg subwoofer measures 1,200 x 600 x 600mm and is finished in black polyurethane coating.

The VL2i is an ultra-compact speaker system, which has been designed for music and speech reproduction either as a standalone speaker or as a fill/delay in combination with a Versio subwoofer for full range applications. Combining dual 4-inch woofers with a 1-inch neodymium compression driver, the 100W (AES) rated VL2i provides 100-degrees radial dispersion and a maximum SPL of 110dB within a 100Hz to 19kHz frequency range. Housed in an IP44-rated polyurethane coated cabinet in either black or white, the 6kg system comes with five M8 threads and a protective grille.

The MCX15 is a new low profile 500W (AES) rated coaxial monitor, which can be set up at angles of either 35- or 55-degrees. Providing 65-degrees vertical x 45-degrees horizontal dispersion, the 26kg model has been adapted to the monitor angle, allowing a rotation of 90-degrees. On both the left and right sides of the cabinet are connection panels each fitted with two NL 4 Speakon sockets. Multifunctional use has been enhanced by adding a flange inside the handle and two Vario mounting points for allowing the installation of a flying frame without any tools. Operating within a 60Hz to 19kHz frequency range, the 15-inch monitor is capable of producing 125dB maximum SPL.

The VL15XTL is a 15-inch two-way speaker system, capable of producing a maximum SPL of 129dB. The 600W (AES) rated design provides a 60-degrees x 40-degrees bi-radial dispersion pattern. Operating within a 55Hz to 19kHz frequency range, multipurpose applications are enhanced by virtue of the 24kg cabinet being equipped with a high stand flange, two handles and 12 M8 mounting points.
