J Davis Prosound & Lighting provide sound for Slayer and Carlos Santana
INDIA: J Davis Prosound & Lighting was responsible for providing technical services for both Slayer and Carlos Santana at the recent Rock In India Concert at the Bharatiya City.
The team deployed an L-Acoustics rig for both acts, comprised of 12 V-Dosc line arrays with six SB218 subwoofers per side for low end. Four SB218s were also used as centre subs along with four Arcs for the centre-fills.
For Slayer, six Arcs per side were used to cover the extreme corners of the venue to give an even coverage, whilst four V-Doscs were used per side for Carlos Santana.
The system was powered by L-Acoustics LA48a amplifiers and controlled by a Dolby Lake processor.
Slayer’s left and right delay system was taken care of by eight JBL Vertec 4889s deployed four per side powered by Crown IT amplifiers. For Carlos Santana, 16 L-Acoustics Arcs systems powered by Campco amplifiers were used, which were also controlled by a Dolby Lake processor.
A Midas Heritage 3000 analogue console was used at FOH for the Slayer concert with an Avid SC48 console to support the opening acts. A Yamaha PM5DRH desk was used for monitors, which comprised eight Martin Audio LE1500 and eight LE2100s.
Carlos Santana’s band used its own Midas XL4 digital console and used a Yamaha PM1D digital mixing system.
