Klotz AIS cables for Konya Stadium
TURKEY: The new 42,000-seat Konya Stadium has been equipped entirely with cables from Klotz AIS. The German manufacturer has supplied the entire A/V cabling infrastructure including SMPTE camera and Triax camera cables, SDI-HD video cables, audio cables, some fibre optic cables and network cables.
The installation project was carried out by Istanbul-based systems integrator, Asimetrik, and has seen the new venue replace the 60-year-old Konya Atatürk Stadium. The home of the Torku Konyaspor Kulübü football club, the new stadium complies with UEFA specifications and is part of an entire sports complex including a multi-purpose sports hall, velodrome and a range of other sporting facilities.
Asimetrik has used large quantities of a variety of Klotz cables for the project. The models include premade CAM311 SMPTE and TRIAX 11 camera cables, VD167 HD-SDI video cables and 2 x 6mm2 speaker cables in addition to the manufacturer’s best-selling MY206 microphone cables, PolyFIX PX22CH audio multicores and PolyLIVE in various pairings.
‘This is a very important installation for Klotz AIS to be involved with,’ said director of international sales, Frederic Kromberg. ‘The Konya Stadium project highlights not only our wide range of products but also that we have the production capabilities to supply large orders within quite short time frames. We are happy that Asimetrik has once again chosen to install a complete solution from KLOTZ AIS and we look forward to even more high-quality business with them in the future.’
Away from the cabling solution, Asimetrik has also been responsible for the professional sound system, public address sound system, emergency announcement and broadcast infrastructure at the stadium. The installation is still ongoing, but the solution selected by Asimetrik includes speakers from RCF for the main PA, meeting rooms, press room and interview room. The stadium will also be equipped with a QSC Q-SYS audio automation infrastructure and amplifiers as well as an Allen & Heath mixing desk.
