Klotz Multicore offers all-in-one solution
Described as an ‘all-in-one solution for many applications within the scope of PA and lighting control’, the Klotz Universal Multicore System has been added to the manufacturer’s multicore range.
The Universal Multicore System is intended for use in applications requiring networked audio, DMX, control and mains, or any combination thereof. The system is based on the manufacturer’s universal multicore cable, the HC54A8P25, with the addition of the Harting Modular termination technique and the ‘extremely robust’ TrueLink stagebox technique.
The System comprises four flexible and shielded Cat5 data cables with Neutrik etherCON connectors; eight digital audio lines with four XLR3-F and four XLR3-M on each side for DMX, PA returns and RS422 control; and a mains lead with three 2.5mm² and Neutrik powerCON bulkhead connectors, sufficient for FOH power supply over long distances. The outer diameter of the universal hybrid cable is 25.1mm.
Among the expected applications are connecting digital audio networks such as A-Net, CobraNet and EtherSound in installations or live events, running lighting controls based on ArtNet, MA-Net or Pathport, running DMX lighting control based on USITT DMX512, the remote control of devices via Ethernet, remote control via RS422, and digital and analogue audio distribution for PA, monitoring and intercom.
