Kramer ships Panasonic-compatible HDBaseT range extenders

Published:

Kramer Electronics is shipping its new line of HDBaseT range extenders that are compatible with the Panasonic Digital Link line of projectors. The range extenders with HDBaseT capability, send the HDMI signal along with the Ethernet 100BaseT, RS-232 and IR input signals as an integrated HDBaseT signal over a distance of 100m.

Panasonic has recently introduced a new range of projectors supporting HDBaseT technology, which connects all entertainment devices through a single LAN cable. Therefore, the aim of the Digital Link line is to provide projection solutions where a distance connection is required. The new line of projectors supports delivery of uncompressed HD, audio and control commands up to 100m via a single Cat-5e/6 LAN cable and is compatible with Kramer’s HDBaseT products.

The family of TP-58x transmitters sends the HDMI input signal, along with the Ethernet 100BaseT, RS-232 and IR input signals as an integrated HDBaseT signal to a distance of 130m using Kramer’s BC−DGKat623 cables. The TP-58x receiver family converts the twisted pair signal back to Ethernet 100BaseT, RS-232, IR and HDMI outputs, and de-embeds the audio to S/PDIF and TOSLINK audio outputs.

In other news, Kramer has recently launched the KDS-MP1 and KDS-EN1 digital signage and video over IP solutions.

The former is the manufacturer’s new LAN−based digital signage media player, which is a cost effective, full HD player specifically designed to provide high-quality HDMI video and audio output for large-scale digital signage deployments.

Kramer’s new hardware-based media player receives content streamed from the network, saved in its internal memory or from an external USB memory stick, and displays it with image quality of up to 1080p HD via HDMI, VGA or AV 3.5mm outputs. The unit supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG L2, MP3, H.264/MPEG -4 and VC-1 code formats and boasts a 4GB internal memory – which can be replaced with an external memory of up to 16GB.

Meanwhile, the KDS−EN1 is a broadcast-quality video scaler and audio embedder/de−embedder for digital signals up to 3G HD-SDI, composite and component video signals, HDMI and balanced audio signals. This professional H.264 HD encoder provides real-time encoding and compression, supporting most audio and video signal inputs, including analogue audio and video, SD/HD-SDI, YPbPr and HDMI.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also introduced the KDS- EN2T and KDS-EN2R digital signage and video over IP solutions. Using its JPEG2000 compression technology, the KDS−EN2T sends a ‘visually lossless’ HD image and digital stereo over a 1000BaseT LAN to a KDS−EN2R receiver for video wall and digital signage applications.

The new KDS-EN2T/R HDMI encoder and decoder distribute high definition video content economically and with high flexibility, to up to 1080p for video broadcasting with Gigabit Ethernet LAN.
