Lighthouse Church engages the congregation with QSC
INDIA: Looking to upgrade its FOH audio system, Lighthouse Church, located in the Indian town of Panvel, recently enlisted the help of Mumbai-based pro audio solutions provider Dev Electronics. Active participation is a focus of the church’s services, and with an ever-growing congregation and steady-expansion of its worship space, church leaders were seeking high quality audio performance and coverage, in a format that was both easy to operate and maintain. Following a site survey, Dev Electronics’ Ketan Shetty and the team drew up a comprehensive plan for the church committee, keeping in mind its requirements for the space in terms of ‘performance and upkeep, ease of use, aesthetic appeal, economic viability and total value for money’.
‘Lighthouse Church works to highlight the teachings of God by sharing the message and good news that’s mentioned in the Holy Book through various forms of praise and worship services in which music is a vital component,’ explained a Lighthouse Church leader. ‘The entire congregation unanimously participates through the scope of the service and this makes the experience truly divine.’
The design involved a total of four KLA 12 active line array speakers from QSC, deployed at FOH in a L-R configuration with two cabinets on either side. Control would be provided from a single Dynacord CMS 2200 mixing console, while microphones from Shure’s SLX and SVX series completed the design.
‘We devised this system plan keeping in mind the various points that members of the church committee had discussed with us during our meetings,’ recalled Mr Shetty. ‘With all the details in place, we figured that the QSC KLA12 would be the best fit for the project, keeping in mind its compact structure, aesthetically pleasing appearance and of course its performance, all in an easy to use and maintain package. And progressing on the fundamental of “easy to use”, the Dynacord CMS 2200 console fits perfectly into the mix. It’s no surprise that the committee members were more than happy with our proposal, and extended all the help and support that our team needed to integrate the system and tune it so that every corner of the room experienced even and balanced sound. To top it off, the SVX and SLX microphone system acts as the perfect icing on the cake.
‘It’s been an honour for us to be associated with this project, and we trust that we have only built further our longstanding legacy of delivering great quality, tailor-made solutions that represent true value for money for all our clients,’ he added.
Expressing satisfaction with the installation at Lighthouse Church, a church spokesperson explained that ‘the new system is absolutely fantastic. It is so easy to use, and the best part is that it delivers crystal clear sound all across the room. Our congregation members are so thrilled that many of them say that the services have become livelier than before and even more immersive. Our pastors too can see the difference the new system has made, with a noted increase in the turnout at every service and an even more active participation by the congregation during singing and praise. As a church there’s nothing more that we could have asked for. All of us would like to thank the entire team at Dev Electronics for their help and support in making all of this possible. The team has been absolutely wonderful to work with and the passion and knowledge that they have for sound is evident in the great work that they’ve done at Lighthouse Church.’
