FBT has expanded the MaxX Speaker Series with the introduction of ProMaxX, offering three two-way, full-range cabinets and a subwoofer – four powered and three passive models

Maintaining some of the attributes of the original MaxX Series, ProMaxX adds technological improvements including a new cabinet design that increases low-frequency SPL and virtually eliminates undesired resonance. A new horn design provides improved projection, accuracy and uniform dispersion of the mid/high and high frequencies.

DSP circuitry development class-D amplification circuitry, offers proprietary filter algorithms, dynamic equalisation at low frequencies, and advanced energy control for high SPL and low distortion. FBT’s latest class-D, LF and HF power amplifiers use high-efficiency switch-mode power supplies inside a thermally efficient lightweight die-cast aluminium chassis. This allows for the optimisation of the speaker load without the use of fans for cooling. The B&C neodymium magnet loudspeakers, meanwhile, are custom made for FBT, and are paired with the latest generation of B&C HF neodymium magnet compression drivers.

Offering both active and passive versions, the line presently includes the ProMaxX 10a/ProMaxX 10, with 10-inch LF woofer and 1-inch HF driver; ProMaxX 12a/ProMaxX 12, with 12-inch LF woofer and 1-inch HF driver; ProMaxX 14a/ProMaxX 14 with 14-inch LF woofer and 1.4-inch HF driver; and the ProMaxX 15Sa Subwoofer, with 15-inch band-pass subwoofer.

The three two-way speaker systems use gas-injected polypropylene moulded cabinets, while the powered sub has a Baltic birch plywood enclosure. The full-range cabinets also have monitor tapers at 12°, 45°, 55°, for use as floor monitors. Ergonomically placed carrying handles are integrated into the cabinets for easier placement on speaker stands and when transporting.

Combining ease of use and portability, the ProMaxX Speakers are aimed at musicians, DJs, audio/video contractors, sound reinforcement and audio rental companies.

The new Amico 10USB is an integrated, ready-wired sound system offering a plug and play solution for Houses of Worship, school classrooms, auditoriums, business conferences and small musical groups performing live in small to medium sized venues. The mixer, amplification and subwoofer are contained in a single polypropylene enclosure. A storage compartment in the rear houses the systems two 2-way satellite speakers, allowing the wheeled system to be transported as a one piece unit.

The Amico 10USB features a built in professional mixer with six XLR mic inputs with phantom power supply, two mono inputs and four stereo input channels, 3-band EQ, 99 selectable digital effects with effects send and return controls, one effects send, one monitor send, headphone jack out and master volume control. There is a bass-reflex designed Subwoofer, with a 15-inch high-excursion neodymium magnet woofer for extended low frequencies; an analogue audio processor with 24dB/oct electronic crossover network and ADAP (Advanced Dynamic Active Protection); three class-D power amplifiers with switch mode power supplies to power the subwoofer and the two satellite speakers – 500W RMS to the LF and 2 x 150W RMS to the HF; and a USB connector to playback music programs/ files from a computer or to record from the master audio output.

The enclosure features a speaker grille on the front. A cover, also acting as a towing handle, hinges off the top, to reveal a mixer set horizontally, with its connections facing to the rear. The rear cover detaches to allow access to two storage shelves, the power amplifier, two NL4 speaker connectors for the satellite speakers and an IEC power inlet with associated fuse.
