Plasa London unveils first audio sessions
WORLD: Plasa London has announced the first audio sessions in its Professional Development Programme. The tradeshow will host four days of free sessions looking at the technology behind live events.
There will be separate streams for live sound and installed sound in the new AudioLab Theatre, as well as a pro audio laboratory – AudioLab Interactive – which the organiser promises will ‘push audio technology to its limits’.
The AudioLab Theatre features programmes on live sound, installed sound and the sound business. The programme includes Touring Live Sound Meets Broadcast Audio, highlighting the areas of common approach as well as possible conflicts; Live Sound Engineers Question Time; and Bringing Together AV, IT and Audio, which examines where pro audio fits into the colliding worlds of AV and IT.
AudioLab Interactive will be a hands-on, ‘myth-busting’ laboratory where visitors will see live experiments on a range of pro audio equipment. Sessions here include a Network Shootout to push audio networks to their limits; Things You Really Shouldn’t Do With a Power Amplifier, which will explore what happens when amplifiers get hot, when you run them too hard, or into the wrong load; and What Really Causes Interference?
AudioLab 2013 also features a new pro audio arena, where the latest club sound, mobile/PA, and large-format sound systems will be available for demonstration. This area will also host the launch of Pioneer’s new club range of loudspeakers.
Plasa London will take place from October 6 – 9 at ExCeL London.
