RMP serves up Martin Audio for Jakarta restaurants
INDONESIA: Jakarta-based audio designer and systems integrator PT Rhema Multi Perkasa (RMP) has been called upon to provide an increasing number of sound solutions in the Indonesian capital’s upmarket eateries, including Balboni and Negev.
Located in Kota Kasablanka Mall, Balboni is an Italian fine dining restaurant that has been enhanced with a Martin Audio AQ speaker system. Fixed to the ceiling, eight AQ6 speakers have been supplemented in the lower frequencies with the addition of two AQ212 subwoofers, powered by Powersoft Digam LQ2804 amplifiers. An outdoor zone is served with different playback music at reduced SPLs courtesy of an ARX MaxiSplit distribution splitter. A Soundcraft EFX8 mixer and dbx Driverack 260 processor extends the audio options for the restaurant staff, which is further transformed during weekend nights when a DJ plays on a portable set up.
Elsewhere, City Plaza Building is renowned for classic designs, art, and a thriving music scene. Serving a contemporary classic menu for its diners, Negev’s roots encompasses the arts of the mall together with those of a tree more than 100 years old, symbolising the natural beauty and longevity of the large room. In addition, a large quantity of paintings and sculptures adorn every corner of the elegantly designed venue, including a Leopard sculpture from the artist Nyoman Nuarta.
Whilst hot dishes are served to the tables, artists on stage serve foreground music to the patrons via an extensive Martin Audio loudspeaker system. The FOH system consists of four AQ15 speakers supplemented by two S218 dual 18-inch subwoofers, whilst the rear fills, VIP room and bar area are further reinforced by AQ6 speakers and S15 subs.
Powersoft Duecanali 3904 and 5204 together with Digam LD1404 and LD3004 amplifiers power the entire loudspeaker system, whilst zone control is provided by an ARX MaxiSplit 2-into-4 / 1-into-8 line distribution splitter. Compression and limiting has been configured by adding an ARX Afterburner II multi-mode compressor/limiter into the rack on stage behind a DJ booth sporting a Soundcraft FX16II mixer used for the live acts and a Pioneer DJM900 mixer with CDJ2000 players for the DJ performances. In keeping with the restaurant’s philosophy, RMP has perfected the art of sound into the fabric of the venue.
