The third revision of Peavey Electronics’ ReValver software adds the Peavey 3120, Masterpiece, Sensation, Budda Superdrive II and Budda Superdrive V Series amplifier models, as well as Peavey VCL-2 tube compressor and the Budda Budwah expression pedal models.
ReValver uses an exclusive algorithm that analyses the interactions of the amplifiers’ components at circuit level, based on the original schematics. By mapping these amplifier models from the component level, ReValver reckons to ‘model every nuance with amazing accuracy’. The software GUI uses a drag-and-drop interface to add or subtract individual components and devices, such as amplifiers, preamps, power amps, stomp boxes and effects.
By right-clicking on an amp model, users can ‘go inside’ and adjust an amplifier’s tones and components on the Tweak Module GUI. This allows adding or subtracting of tubes on all amplifier models, and calibration of the voltage parameters of those tubes. In all, more than 15 elements and functions on each tube stage can be adjusted, with as many as 17 different preamp and power tube types to choose from. Users can also modify power amp rectifiers, output transformers and tone stacks.
ReValver MkIII.V features a robust stompbox and effects section, including various types of chorus, distortion, wah, tremolo, compression, limiter, delay and octaver. An FFT-based convolution reverb offers complex and smooth reverbs, including sampled spring reverb, and allows users to import their own .WAV samples. The VST Host module allows users to load third-party VSTs for use within the ReValver software.
