Resolution and brightness provide focus for new Christie products

Christie has unveiled the G Series and four new E Series 1-chip DLP projectors. In the new G Series, the Christie DHD550-G and Christie DWU550-G provide 5,000 lumens, 1-chip DLP technology and a single mercury-lamp design for fixed applications. Similar to the G Series, the four new E Series projectors deliver higher brightness, and increased flexibility and reliability for both fixed and rental staging applications.

The Christie G Series comes in at 5,000 lumens and offers a choice between HD (1920 x 1080) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolutions. The range features optional wireless connectivity, a suite of optional lenses and input options that include HDMI, DVI and display port.

The Dynamic Contrast feature reportedly boosts contrast ratios up to 5000:1, and Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture functionality provide display options. For multi-projector installations, the G Series comes with colour matching as well as an optional dual processing warp card that enables blending and warping.

Christie also added four new E Series projectors to its line up with the DHD675-E, DWU675-E, DHD775-E and the DWU775-E. The new E Series models are built on 1-chip DLP technology and a dual lamp design that provides brightness ranging from 6,450 to 7,200 lumens, a choice between HD (1920 x 1080) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolutions, and delivers up to 5000:1 contrast ratio.

The new Christie E Series models feature a dust-sealed light engine and dual mercury lamps that have the ability to optimise lamp configuration. Also included is a high brightness six-segment colour wheel (RGBCYW) with an optional rich colour wheel (RGBCYM) available when colour precision is vital.

Away from projectors, the manufacturer has also launched its WeatherAll Series of LCD outdoor flat panels. The first of the WeatherAll Series is the 55-inch FHD551-W, a professional grade Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) solution. The FHD551-W features optically bonded glass for increased protection against harsh impacts and scratches while reducing reflection. It is designed to provide high contrast ratio and superior brightness to overcome high ambient light.

The DACS cooling and filtration system provides a thermostatically-controlled active system that protects sensitive electronics from temperature extremes, moisture, and dust. The easy-clean solution reportedly eliminates the need for core filter replacement. The FHD551-W features a weather rating of IP56/NEMA4, providing protection against solid foreign objects such as falling dirt or windblown dust in addition to rain, sleet, snow, ice and splashing or hosed water.
