Sound.com chooses VTX for Mumbai EDM gig
INDIA: JBL’s VTX system was used by rental company Sound.com to provide reinforcement for the recent Axwel-Ingrosso concert in Mumbai. Managed and promoted by Percept Live, the event saw Sound.com owner Warren D’souza along with team member Clifford D’costa take charge of DiGiCo and Soundcraft consoles for FOH and monitoring. The rental house also provided additional services including proper power voltage settings, time-aligned PA systems, stagehands and stage tech crews.
‘The delivery was flawless and spot on, and that is why we contracted Sound.com for this project,’ stated Vinay Agarwal, production manager at Sunburn. ‘Their professionalism and ability to tackle any challenge that comes their way is admirable. The low frequency subs that had been set up were unique and great as well.’
Taking place at the Mumbai National Sports Club of India (NSCI), an air-conditioned indoor venue with seating capacity for 5,000, Sound.com deployed a DiGiCo SD10 mixing desk at FOH and Soundcraft V16 for monitoring. The speaker system consisted of V25, S28 and G28 enclosures with Vertec VT 4888, 4887 and 4880 cabinets providing additional fills as well as monitoring for the DJs. The speakers were powered by Crown I-Tech 12000HD, I-Tech 3500X4HD and Lab.gruppen FP10000Q amplifiers, and Pioneer CDJ 2000Nexus and CDJ 2000 turntables with accompanying DJM 900Nexus mixer were provided for the artists.
‘We are proud and pleased to be a part of each power-packed gig that Percept does with all of the EDM giants they bring down,’ commented Mr D’souza. ‘Working on such mammoth productions gives us an opportunity to test out skills and eclipse the milestones we set for ourselves. We hope this association continues and that we give the crowd a sonic experience to always remember.’
