Sovico to host Meyer Sound MAPP Pro and SIM 3 seminar
KOREA: Meyer Sound distributor Sovico is hosting an advanced three-day seminar event in Seoul at the end of August. The sessions will be focused around the relationship between the manufacturer’s MAPP Online Pro virtualisation software and SIM 3 measurement equipment. It has been designed for systems engineers, FOH engineers, contractors, or anyone involved in audio system design, installation, or system optimisation.
Taking place from August 26-28 9am-6pm at Sovico’s headquarters in Seocho District, Meyer Sound director of system optimisation Bob McCarthy will be instructing the sessions on both systems, with data being compared so that the relationship between the two becomes clear.
The aim is to help users to create better MAPP designs by having a clearer understanding of how to interpret the plots and how the systems behave. This will reportedly be accomplished by producing MAPP plots of a system set up in the lecture hall. Attendees will then be taught how to relate the design of the sound systems in MAPP to optimisations in SIM 3.
Each day’s seminars will be broken down in sections. On the first day, attendees will explore several topics including: Physics fundamentals for design and optimisation; how to read an analyser; basic acoustic measurements; single speaker equalisation; and crossover alignment. The second day will cover: Speaker arrays; splay angle; spacing; level setting; delay setting; and complete system tuning. The final day’s topics include: System design with MAPP Pro; coverage patterns; level scaling; aiming; array design; and example applications.
Places are limited to approximately 60. For more information please contact Olivia Lee from Sovico at email@example.com.
