Taiden customised for Oman Ministry of Finance
OMAN: Oman’s Ministry of Finance in Muscat has become the first site in the region to install Taiden’s new generation Paperless Multimedia System. In a further first, the system’s interface has been customised to offer Arabic script.
The Ministry of Finance required two separate solutions with an Arabic interface deemed to be a priority. The project was awarded to Oman Marketing and Services Co (Omasco) which opted to purchase the Taiden solution through the manufacturer’s Dubai-based distributor, Thomsun Trading.
The matching systems are based around the HCS-8300MB main unit. Each feature the new generation HCS-8348BCE chairman unit and a total of 32 HCS-8348BDE delegate units all with the 10-inch multitouch TFT HD display and built-in video camera.
The installed solution provides a full paperless conference experience with multimedia elements like full HD Video playback and chat, document and script reader, contactless sign-in and automatic camera tracking. Besides standard features like discussion, voting and interpretation, other functionality like video conferencing, audio and video recording have been implemented as a part of the system.
Away from the Ministry of Finance, a further government installation in Oman that has opted for Taiden is the Dhofar Municipality in Salalah. As part of a phased refurbishment and upgrade of the municipality’s A/V and IT system, Dhofar Municipality’s conference facility has been fitted with Taiden’s Economical Multimedia Congress System.
This project was again sourced through Thomsun, but this time carried out by ZT Solutions, part of the Zubair Corporation group of companies.
Again, an HCS-8300MB formed the main unit of the system, but this project saw the scaled down economical multimedia terminal HCS-8335C chairman unit and 39 of the manufacturer’s HCS-8335D delegate terminals. There is again a video conferencing element to the system.
