TotalMix FX 4 added to all RME interfaces

Published:

TotalMix FX 4 functionality has been extended to all RME audio interfaces through a newly released set of driver updates for Windows and OSX. TotalMix FX is the manufacturer’s remote control software for audio interfaces. The latest version of the program has now been ported to provide compatibility for all devices released since 2001.

Unfortunately for users of older hardware, certain effects and processors such as EQ, echo, reverb and dynamics will be unavailable, as the hardware in the devices was never intended to perform these functions. There are several new feature enhancements in the latest TotalMix version that will be available on older devices however.

The latest PCI/PCIe Windows driver (version 4.03) offers an Interleaved option for WDM operation, plus extended Speaker device control. It also offers sample rate control for multichannel audio interfaces by completely unloading/reloading all current WDM devices, giving full control of the desired sample rate under Windows 7 and 8. A new CoreAudio driver provides compatibility with the latest Mac OS.

Firewire and USB drivers for have also been updated with new features and improved performance under both Windows and Mac, providing full compatibility with the latest operating system versions.

The drivers are available to download from the manufacturer’s website.
