Up to 2K resolution from Kramer’s new VP-690
Kramer Electronics has launched the VP-690 presentation scaler/switcher for 3G HD-SDI, HDMI, computer graphics, composite video and component video signals up to 2K resolution.
The VP-690 accepts one of nine input signals from amongst the single SD/HD/3G HD-SDI input, two HDMI inputs, two computer graphics inputs on 15-pin HD connectors, two composite video inputs on RCA connectors and two component video inputs on RCA connectors. The unit scales the video, embeds the audio, and outputs the signal simultaneously to an HDMI output, a computer graphics video output and an RGBHV video output together with both a digital audio output and an analogue stereo audio output.
The VP-690 automatically detects and selects the audio source for the HDMI input. If HDMI is not detected, then the machine uses the audio from the analogue input. The unit is also HDTV compatible and HDCP compliant.
Controlling the VP-690 can be done directly, via the front panel push buttons, by RS-232 serial commands transmitted by a touch screen system, PC, or other serial controller, via included handheld remote control, or via the built-in Ethernet port.
Also new from Kramer is the VS-808TP 8X8 twisted pair matrix switcher for analogue twisted pair signals. The VS−808TP features eight inputs and eight outputs for remote connection with compatible TP transmitters and receivers. The switcher is designed to work with the manufacturer’s auto-adjusting TP-133/TP-134 transmitter/receiver pair. An additional, switchable VGA, stereo audio and RS-232 local input and output allows direct connection of the signals with these compatible units.
The VS−808TP utilises twisted Pair cabling to route and distribute signals both from a local and remote sources, at ranges of up to 200m. Using Kramer’s TP−133 and TP−134 transmitter/receiver pair with a standard Cat−5 cable automatically makes the system equalise and de-skew the signal for different cable lengths.
