Webcasting made easy with Teradek VidiU
Described as bringing ‘the capabilities of professional video encoders to the masses’, VidiU from Teradek is now offering 1080p live video streaming to Ustream and other content delivery networks at a mid-market price likely to prove attractive to houses of worship.
Effectively a miniature HDMI H.264 encoder, VidiU does not require a connection to a PC or Mac to stream and can function as a table- or camera-top encoder. Native integration with Ustream is offered to enable quick set-up while the device also includes an unlocked RTMP interface for compatibility with most other content delivery networks (CDNs).
Other features include Ethernet connectivity, dual-band MIMO wifi (2.4/5GHz), support for 3G and 4G USB modems, and a built-in Li-Ion battery with up to two hours of runtime. Finally, a special Access Point mode allows users to set-up and monitor live broadcasts locally from an iOS device regardless of whether it is connected to the internet.
