XTi 2 Series amplifiers from Crown

Published:

New XTi 2 amplifiers have arrived from Crown, reportedly offering increased control, an enhanced feature set and a sleeker design for portable PA applications.

Described by the manufacturer as ‘providing a complete suite of integrated speaker processing’, the XTi 2 amplifiers are intended to eliminate the need for external crossovers, limiters, and EQs. Among the features are the manufacturer’s PeakX Plus limiters, derived from the same framework as those found in I-Tech HD and XLS DriveCore amps, allowing users to manipulate threshold, attack and release times. A new subharmonic synthesiser also offers accurate control over which frequencies are targeted and can be tailored for a specific system or room setup.

The amplifiers also offer advanced thermal control, offering users the ability to tailor fan performance to their requirements, while the number of available presets has been increased from 20 to 30. Elsewhere, a new status section facilitates the monitoring of power supply temperature and AC line voltage.

Finally, the amplifiers are fully compatible with HiQnet Band Manager software.
