Al Lailak covers 13th Arab Media Forum
KUWAIT: Al Lailak Pro Sound and Light supplied the audio solution for the 13th session of the Arab Media Forum held in Kuwait. The two day event comprised a forum where a number of important issues were discussed as well as a closing ceremony with a performance by popular Kuwaiti singer Nawal.
Al Lailak was enlisted for the event after mixing Nawal at a previous large-scale performance. Following that event, the company was directly requested by Nawal’s management for the Arab Media Forum concert.
The event called on the house DAS Audio system as its main PA. However, Al Lailak supplemented this with further equipment. While the forum only required some additional podium mics, the concert required a good deal more gear.
‘For the music show we supplied a Midas ProX console, L-Acoustic X12 and X15HIQ monitors, DPA clip mics for the violins, Klark Teknik DI boxes, a Shure mic set for the drum kit, a Neumann KM184 MT for the qanoun as well as some other accessories,’ recalled Yousef Najem from Al Lailak Pro Sound and Light.
According to Mr Najem, the main challenge for the event came from speaker positioning. ‘The ceiling was very low and in order to transfer the sound to the other side of the ballroom we needed to fly the line array higher,’ he explained. ‘To solve that issue we needed a delay point. Unfortunately we were not able to fly the delays due to not having a hanging point in the ceiling. Instead we used special boom stands to fly the delay points.’
With this issue solved, Mr Najem is pleased to report the event went well and the customer was satisfied with the service.
