Apantac entertains and works hard

Apantac has created a single solution from HDBaseT and openGear technologies with its recently launched HDMI extender/receiver set. The manufacturer states that the combination of HDBaseT and openGear provides redundancy and reliability for live events and mission critical installations.

The OG-HDBT-EAPx extender card for openGear, can reportedly transmit uncompressed 4K, 2K, HD, 3D, embedded digital audio, and control signals over a single Cat-X cable. Front accessible, hot swappable and modular, the card combines with existing openGear cards of differing functionality in the same 2U chassis.

Ten OG-HDBT-EAPx cards fit into an openGear frame and are designed to support distances of up to 100m when used with the stand-alone HDBT-1-R receiver.

The American manufacturer has also unveiled its new video wall scaler card, also designed as the first videowall processor for the openGear platform. The OG-Pinnacle-C features crop/zoom functionality and provides horizontal/vertical shifts of SDI video to feed videowall tiles, LED and monitor walls.

The ‘crop & zoom’ scaler tool is configured to display one part of a source per tile or monitor. 3G, HD and SD-SDI signals are auto-detected, and it includes an active input loop to feed multiple scaler cards from the same signal, while offering HDMI/DVI and SDI outputs.

Alongside this, Apantac has launched the OG-MiniDE-II, an openGear multiviewer card that complements its existing multiviewer card for SDI inputs, the OG-MiniQ. Multimedia and video signals can be monitored on a single display when both cards are used together.

The OG-MiniDE-II is described by the manufacturer as the most compact hybrid multiviewer solution available, with 10 cards fitting into a 2U openGear frame. Each card includes HDMI and DVI inputs with HDMI and SDI outputs.

Finally, Apantac has released a couple of new seamless switches, both of which include HDMI outputs that include HDBaseT technology with built in extenders over Cat-X cables.

The CLN-SW-4x4-HDBT and CLN-SW-16x8-HDBT are an HDMI 4x4 and an HDMI 16x8 clean matrix switch respectively. Both matrices are solutions for switching between sources with different resolutions, without any visual or audio disturbance within a conference or presentation setting.
