Barnfind Technologies connects up first Chinese Youth Games
CHINA: Barnfind Technologies’ BarnOne flagship series was selected as the signal transport platform for the first Chinese Youth Games. Deployed in the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) at the Fuzhou Haixia Olympic Sports Centre, the Barnfind system was responsible for signal transmission, routing, switching and monitoring for the IBC Media Centre, all 12 stadia, the studio signal, Fujian and CCTV sports channels and the signals for the on-site videowall. Spread across 10 competition days, the inaugural Chinese Youth Games witnessed 7,900 athletes from 55 delegations competing in 305 events in Fujian Province. The system design and integration was facilitated by Barnfind’s regional partner, Guangzhou Digi-Red Electronic Equipment Co Ltd.
‘Barnfind’s innovative technology helped to achieve a successful and satisfactory signal transport which provided a great efficiency and convenience for our entire broadcasting session,’ stated Mr Pan, chief technical engineer for the Chinese Youth Games. ‘Barnfind brought flawless signal quality to our audiences nationwide. We are impressed by the product’s flexibility, functionality and stability.’
The BarnOne solution is reported to have played an important role as a communication hub for all signal transport/switching/routing/conversion. Several BarnOne BTF01-04 frames were used for main and redundant signal transport and core matrix routing, with numerous BarnMini-01 units installed separately in 12 venues to send the live signal back to the BTF01-04 frames in the IBC Media Centre. The BarnOne units and the BarnMini throw down boxes then distributed the signals between the IBC Media Centre and other surrounding venues.
‘As the solution provider, two of our technical engineers took just one day for on-site installation and testing,’ said Chen Can, general manager of Digi-Red Electronic Equipment. ‘This proves Barnfind products’ user-friendly advantage in installation and easy maintenance.’
