Biamp Systems expands Devio Collaboration Tool with microphone option

Created specifically for huddle rooms and small gathering spaces, the DCM-1 ceiling microphone has been added to the Devio collaboration portfolio. In addition to enhancing intelligible speech, the DCM-1 has been designed for ease of installation in rooms with or without drop ceilings, promoting a cleaner table for laptops and other materials.

The Devio CR-1 base unit can be bundled with the DCM-1 ceiling or DTM-1 table-top microphone. Both models feature eight element beamforming microphone arrays that track voices within and mix audio across three 120-degree zones, resulting in 360-degree coverage that reportedly provides remote conference participants with a natural representation of the conversation. Audio quality is further enhanced with integrated acoustic echo cancellation and noise reduction, whilst installation is simplified with Auto Setup.

With the CR-1 base unit, Devio can route video from a connected laptop to one monitor via an HDMI connection or to two monitors via the included USB 3.0 cable using DisplayLink USB graphics technology. Devio also offers connectivity to a variety of other in-room devices including USB web cameras and speakers. When connected to the CR-1, content can be shared locally by initiating the preferred soft codec from a computer, bypassing the need for additional software. Multiple CR-1 units can be managed centrally using the Devio software administration utility (SAU) or via SNMP, whilst firmware and configurations can be mass deployed.
