Calibre declares ‘world’s fastest input switching technology’

Published:

Described as the ‘first ever-combined video and audio 4K scaler-switchers’, four models have debuted from Calibre. All four incorporate the manufacturer’s HQUltraFast feature – dubbed ‘the world’s fastest input switching technology’ by its creator.

Named the HQView620A, HQView625A, HQView630A and HQView670A, the scaler-switchers have reportedly been designed to reduce the level of equipment in installations. According to Calibre, HQUltraFast changes inputs in typically 0.25s.

Other features of the 1U units include analogue and embedded audio switching, microphone inputs with mixer, balanced line-level outputs and an integral 15W+15WRMS stereo power amplifier. Audio-follow-video switching is also onboard.

Meanwhile in a related announcement the manufacturer has announced four LEDView700-series scaler-switchers for ‘professional and mass-market’ use.

All of the models use a dedicated LED videowall image scaling engine based on HQUltra 4K. Control is either remote via a built-in web server or on the unit’s front panel menu complete with jog wheel. Occupying 1U of rack-space, the LEDView730 and LEDView770 can handle 10 inputs and provide three duplicate video outs including 4K HDMI, DVI/HDMI and 3G SDI. The LEDView720 offers eight video inputs and two duplicate ins for fixed installs, digital signage and mobile LED trucks. Finally, the LEDView725 has nine video inputs and three duplicate outs, including 4K HDBaseT In and Out.
