Chief tackles projector installation
Claiming to reduce installation time by as much as a third, A/V mounting solutions manufacturer, Chief, has begun shipping its new SYSAU suspended projector system. The out-of-the-box system incorporates a suspended ceiling plate, column system, mount and universal interface and is the result of Chief engineers observing and interviewing installers in the field.
‘A big thing we saw is projectors are often installed twice,’ explained product manager, Luke Westin. ‘People align the ceiling plate, hook up the projector to find the best location and then take it apart again to cut a hole in the ceiling tile. We worked to eliminate the need for that.’
The new mount features the same image control as Chief’s RPT model, but adds Tool-Free Microzone adjustment with what the manufacturer describes as ‘a positive drive system’ to keep adjustments in place without screws. Furthermore, the mount features an adjustable 0-305mm column with separate inlay channels for high and low voltage cables, as well as a quick-disconnect mechanism between the interface and projector and interface and mount. The SYSAUB mount is available in black and white finishes.
