Crestron unveils large-format touchscreen controller
Crestron’s family of touchscreen control surfaces has been expanded with the introduction of the TS-1542. The device features a large, 15-inch capacity touchscreen and hosts the manufacturer’s Smart Graphics solution to aid with the creation of a large-format interface. In terms of features, the controller boasts the same functionality as Crestron’s TSW touch screen line but adds in-wall or tabletop stand installation options. A single cable connection handles power, control and media.
As well as the controller, Crestron recently unveiled five input and outputs cards for DigitalMedia systems to bring the latest HDCP2.2 protection standard to the family. HDCP2.2 protected 4K content cannot be transmitted without support hardware. With other aspects of the system such as the DM chassis, cables, room boxes and receivers already HDCP2.2-compliant, the I/O cards are the only component in the system to require an upgrade. Users only need new output cards for those displays to which their customers want to transmit HDCP2.2-protected content.
