CSA presents Sound Day 2017
INDONESIA: Harman Professional’s exclusive Indonesian distributor, CSA, recently hosted Sound Day 2017 at the Salihara Theatre in Jakarta. The event was used as a platform to demonstrate several pro audio products from the Harman catalogue with the JBL VTX V20 line array serving as the main attraction, as well as an educational seminar for 300 local engineers from rental houses, touring crews and houses of worship.
David Bradshaw from Harman presented the VTX demo and subsequent workshop that explored the system in greater detail. Roger Lim, also from the manufacturer, provided assistance by mixing the sound for the demo from the Soundcraft Vi3000 and Vi2000 consoles that were also on show. Other products demonstrated as part of Sound Day 2017 included JBL VerTec 4886 and 4883 cabinets and Crown VRack amplifiers. In addition to systems from Harman’s pro audio brands, Desmon Kwan from Harman and CSA’s Enrille Simanjuntak controlled at Martin Professional lighting rig.
CSA’s CEO, Setiawan Winarto, welcomed those in attendance to begin the proceedings while Harman’s Rodney Houston introduced the rest of his team. Participants were given hands-on time with the consoles and were able to ask questions.
Following the main demonstration and seminar, a CSA collaborated with Unlimited Worship to deliver workshop aimed at engineers from houses of worship, led by guest speaker Joseph Manurung, a sound engineer for Indonesian pop band Noah. Franky Kuncoro of Unlimited Worship was the seminar’s moderator and the theme was How to be a good church sound engineer.
