dBTechnologies powers Philippines’s biggest EDM concert
PHILIPPINES: The largest electronic dance music (EDM) event to have ever taken place in the Philippines recently chose a sound reinforcement solution from dBTechnologies to entertain a crowd of some 20,000 party-goers. Named LifeDance 2015, the event took place in the Cebu region of the country, with technical support from local rental house JQ Professional Lights&Sound.
Drawing inspiration from globally renowned concerts such as Creamfields and Coachella, LifeDance first appeared on the Philippine concert circuit back in 2012. At the time, it formed the country’s largest EDM event ever to take place outdoors. In the years since, it has continued to swell in popularity. Fans gathered in the early afternoon in anticipation of 14 hours of dance music from a mix of local and international DJs, including Borgeous, Miss Nine and Vinai.
As you can imagine for a concert such as this, low frequency output was placed quite literally front and centre, with a total of six S30 subwoofers lining the front of the stage. A further two S30s were joined by four DVX D12HP cabinets behind the DJ booth as monitors. The main PA was deployed in an L-R configuration and comprised 12 DVA T12s, eight DVA T8 and four Sigma215A enclosures.
‘We are increasingly proud of our DVA T12. It’s the most powerful model of our DVA active line array family, and it's rapidly conquering so many prestigious stages in the world,’ enthused dBTechnologies’ Giovani Barbieri. ‘The success of this event in Cebu makes me even more happy, since it shows how rapidly the network of Philippine dBTechnologies professional users is increasing. This is even more confirmation of the excellent work of our distributor in the Philippines, Vertek Pro.’
