David Claringbold to appear at ISE 2017
WORLD: Former director of the Sydney Opera House, David Claringbold will make an appearance in Amsterdam at The RAI during ISE 2017, on behalf of d&b audiotechnik. Mr Claringbold was named as an inaugural member of the manufacturer’s advisory board during 2016, a role that sees him provide d&b with support in further developing its segment strategy with a particular focus on the installation market.
In his talk at the trade show, Mr Claringbold will discuss how venues for entertainment, sports, retail and leisure have evolved from single-purpose buildings into more complex arenas.
‘Modern venues are developing sophisticated business models with 24/7 utilisation, driven by a diverse programme. The model is no longer linear. This demands new ways of approaching audio technology and new opportunities for creativity,’ said Mr Claringbold. ‘To meet the complex needs of our ever changing world in a meaningful way, we must explore, and further our understanding of how high quality sound can add value to life, art and enterprise. I will take a provocative look at the way sound deeply connects us - to our environment, our society, ideas and art.’
