DPA and Ansata bring workshop to Trivandrum

INDIA: Following the successful workshop that DPA Microphones and its Indian distributor, Ansata, recently delivered in Mumbai, the two companies collaborated once again, to host a seminar in Trivandrum. The event catered towards local sound engineers in the broadcast and production sectors, exploring microphone techniques and best practices with a focus on the manufacturer’s product portfolio. As with the Mumbai event, the Trivandrum workshop was presented by DPA’s global sales support manager, Bo Brinck, and Ansata’s pro audio division product manager, Dipanshu Mitra.

‘The previous workshop in Mumbai turned out to be extremely positive and encouraging, and to keep the momentum going, we decided to take this brand of training and education to Trivandrum,’ said Mr Mitra. ‘The response we received here was amazing. Bo’s unparalleled expertise acquainted the audience with precise nuances of various microphones and their adaptations in various on-field scenarios. Needless to say, the session really fed off the enthusiasm and energy of the attendees, and we’re extremely happy that the initiative has received such a warm and encouraging response.’

The participants comprised engineers from several television networks, including Asianet, Amrita TV, Janam TV, Jai Hind TV and Mangalam TV, as well as representatives from rental companies Melody Sound and Aarabhi Recording Studio. The training covered topics such as microphone placement, mounting clips, adapters and connectors for wireless connection and transparency in the audio chain.

‘The session was extremely informative and educational,’ noted one of the attendees, broadcast audio engineer Mr Ajayakumar. ‘It was nice to hear Mr Brinck speak not just about DPA microphones, but about several key microphone placement techniques and theories in general. This was a holistic training, something that I have rarely come across in all my years in this industry.’

‘Our vision is to see the Indian market brimming with homegrown world-class professionals that can match up to the best in the world, and for this very reason, we’re going to do our part and continue organising such workshops and seminars on a regular basis,’ said Leslie Lean of Ansata. ‘We’re thankful to our partners and our family of customers for all the love and support we’ve received, and we assure them nothing but the fullest extent of our commitment and service.’
