DWR targets the architectural sector with Vectorworks

SOUTH AFRICA: DWR Distribution exhibited Vectorworks software at the recent Digital Construction Expo to highlight the benefits of the solution to those in the architectural industry. The trade show took place at the Gallagher Convention Centre and shares the halls with the African Construction and Totally Concrete expos.

‘It was the first time that we’ve exhibited in this kind of environment as we accessed the architectural market and pushed Vectorworks,’ Johnny Scholtz of DWR reflected. ‘The the use of Vectorworks is not widespread in the South African architectural market, it’s really big in Europe and the United States. The show was attended by many students, who gave us good feedback as they experimented with the software on our stand. We also made great contacts with architects and project managers. There were a lot of people and it really was very busy.’

Joining Mr Scholtz at the expo were his colleagues Dylan Jones and Schalk Botha, in addition to Francois van der Merwe, a Vectorworks specialist and approved trainer from Wizardry Group. ‘The younger designers and architects, particularly, could see the potential of Vectorworks in their market,’ recalled Mr van der Merwe. ‘They were very excited about what the product could do for them. Everyone liked the fact that it was an all in one solution as they currently used three to four different programmes.’
