eclipse grows audio inventory
UAE: eclipse Staging Services has made a number of significant additions to its audio inventory. The new purchases cover mixing consoles, processing and matrixing, wireless distribution, IEMs, outboard, comms, cabling and power.
The headline purchase is a pair of 96-channel Avid Venue Profile consoles which, according to the rental company’s head of audio, John Parkhouse, have been ‘configured to be as versatile as possible’. The new mixing systems feature a pair of local racks with five DSP cards each and run Waves 9 with the Waves Live bundle plugins. There are also four stage racks, two of which have been configured with 48 inputs and 24 analogue outputs, while another has 48 inputs, 16 analogue outputs and 16 AES outputs and a final rack has been configured with 48 inputs.
Moving on to processing and matrixing, eclipse has added a pair of Lake LM44 processors to its inventory, increasing its stock to three.
Another area where the company has grown its existing inventory can be found with its latest IEM purchase. The rental house has invested in 12 channels of Sennheiser G3 IEM with 24 beltpacks, taking its stock to a total of 24 channels and 36 beltpacks.
The comms side of the audio additions has seen eclipse invest in a pair of Clear-Com FreeSpeak II systems with a total of 10 antennas and 30 beltpacks and headsets. In addition, the rental company has added two Clear-Com HelixNet wired comms systems with a total of 30 beltpacks and headsets.
There has also been a considerable investment in wireless technology. The company has added an RF Venue Spectrum Analyser and RF coordination software for onsite frequency mapping of radio frequencies as well as a number of helical antennas, combiners and passive splitters from Professional Wireless. On top of this, eclipse has purchased two Neutrik Xirium audio TX professional multichannel wireless network systems.
Outboard is where there has been the greatest variety of additions. eclipse has purchased an Avalon 747SP compressor, a TubeTech CL1B compressor, an Empirical Labs EX8 Distressor, two TC Electronics M4000 reverbs, a dbx 120A sub harmonic synthesiser and two Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 rack mountable sound cards.
Finally, the rental house has added to its cabling stock with a range of options from VDC UK as well as four new APC uninterruptable power supplies. The VDC side has been a significant investment for eclipse and includes 500m of BNC, 200m of 4mm eight core speaker cables, 200m of 4mm four core speaker cables and 500m of 4mm Socapex speaker cabling. On top of the cables, the company has also added a number of splitter and patch options from VDC, including a custom designed 56-channel three-way split and custom designed I/O panel work on multi pin connectors.
‘This new kit is the latest in a number of significant audio investments that we have made over the past year and a half, which we feel demonstrates our commitment to the development of the department as a whole,’ concluded eclipse Staging Services general manager, Martin Lubach.
